Face Fitness for the Upper Face: Forehead, Brows and Eyes

The upper face tells the world how tired, focused or stressed you are. It is also where many of us carry tension without noticing: squinting at screens, frowning in concentration, lifting the brows to open tired eyes. Upper-face fitness is about balance, releasing the muscles that overwork and toning the ones that support the brow and eye area.

Meet the muscles

  • Frontalis (forehead): raises the eyebrows.
  • Corrugator supercilii and procerus (between the brows): pull the brows together when you frown.
  • Orbicularis oculi (around the eye): closes and squeezes the eyelids.

1. Forehead Smoother

Place both hands flat across your forehead, fingers spread, and press gently to anchor the skin. Raise your brows against that light resistance, hold for 5 seconds, release. Do 10 repetitions. The anchor matters: without it, the skin simply creases, which is the opposite of what we want.

2. Vertical Forehead Lift

Place your index fingers at the inner corners of your brows and press very lightly outwards. Try to frown against that gentle resistance, then relax completely. Hold for about 8 seconds, 6 repetitions. This is a release move: you train the frown muscle to let go.

3. Blinking Resistance

Place your fingertips at the inner and outer corners of your eyes with very light pressure. Look up, then squint using only the lower lids, as if you are reading tiny print. Do 15 quick pulses and one 10-second hold. Never pull or drag the delicate skin around the eyes.

4. Brow Lift

Place your fingers under the brow arch and lift gently. Close your eyes slowly against that light resistance, hold for 5 seconds, release. Do 8 repetitions.

Make it a mini routine

Our 3-minute upper-face session is simply moves 1, 2 and 3, one round each. Add the fourth on longer days.

Tips for the eye area

  • Use clean hands and only the lightest touch. The skin here is thin.
  • If you are working with a tool, our Rebel Ice globes or the small tip of the Rebel Pen suit the brow bone and temples. Read more in our tool guide.
  • Relax your shoulders. Tight shoulders feed tight foreheads.

Wondering whether exercising your face can cause wrinkles? Read our answer. The short version: anchor the skin, stay gentle, and do not repeat a movement that makes the skin fold hard.

The takeaway: release the frown, tone the support, and keep it light.

Keep pressure light around the eyes and mouth. Stop if your jaw clicks, locks or hurts, or if a neck movement makes you dizzy. Skip resistance work on any area treated with botulinum toxin in the last six months, and check with your doctor or dermatologist first if you have an active skin condition, jaw-joint pain, facial nerve problems, or recent facial surgery or injectables. Face fitness is a wellness practice, not medical advice.
